Frequently asked

Answers, without the small print.

Common questions about how SOZARA works — from cash-pay pricing to peptides, from Men's and Women's programs to how concierge care compares to insurance-based big-box clinics.

Cash-pay vs. insurance

Why is SOZARA cash-pay instead of accepting insurance?

Insurance-based primary care is priced around 12–15 minute visits, three-week schedules, and a coding model that rewards volume — not time, continuity, or root-cause thinking. SOZARA is cash-pay by design so we can spend 60–90 minutes in an initial visit, keep a small patient panel, offer same-day access, and prescribe based on what your labs and history actually show — not what a payer's formulary or authorization queue will allow.

Members typically use their insurance for labs, imaging, specialty referrals, and pharmacy — which we help coordinate — and pay a transparent, flat monthly membership for concierge access to their provider.

Does membership replace my health insurance?

No. SOZARA membership covers your primary-care and longevity relationship with Kathryn Goodson, FNP, APRN-BC. We recommend keeping catastrophic or comprehensive medical insurance for hospitalizations, imaging, specialty care, ER visits, and pharmacy. Membership pairs with — rather than replaces — traditional insurance.

Are membership dues tax-deductible or HSA/FSA-eligible?

Rules vary and evolve. Concierge membership fees are sometimes reimbursable through an HSA or FSA depending on how the plan is structured; some employers also count them toward wellness benefits. Please consult your tax advisor or benefits administrator for guidance specific to your situation.

Membership benefits

What's included in a SOZARA membership?

Every membership includes an extended intake with Kathryn Goodson, a personalized 4–6 month care plan, secure messaging directly with your provider, prescription and refill management, coordinated referrals, and aesthetic credits. Premier and Signature Concierge tiers add hormone optimization, peptide programs, advanced biomarker tracking, and same- or next-day access.

How do you keep visit access this responsive?

Panel size. Concierge practices intentionally cap the number of patients per provider so that same- or next-day access, longer visits, and direct messaging are structurally possible — not aspirational.

How does the assessment fit in?

Our five-minute Digital Health Assessment is complimentary and recommends a starting tier and focus area based on your goals, current symptoms, and lifestyle. It is a starting point — not a diagnosis — and everyone who completes it is offered a follow-up conversation.

Men's & Women's health optimization

How is the Men's Health program structured?

The Men's program combines a comprehensive men's-health lab panel (testosterone total & free, SHBG, estradiol, DHT, DHEA-S, PSA, thyroid, metabolic, lipids, hs-CRP), an executive physical with body-composition and cardiometabolic screening, and — where clinically appropriate — testosterone optimization (TRT), peptide protocols, and sexual-wellness evaluation. Follow-up labs occur at 90 days with a comprehensive re-assessment at six months. See the Men's page →

How is the Women's Health program structured?

The Women's program addresses perimenopause, menopause, postpartum hormone shifts, and long-term bone, cardiovascular, and cognitive health. It includes a comprehensive women's-health lab panel, a 60-minute intake, and — where clinically appropriate — bioidentical hormone replacement (BHRT), peptide protocols, and preventive-screening coordination. See the Women's page →

When should I consider hormone optimization?

When symptoms — energy, sleep, mood, libido, recovery, cycle changes — are affecting your daily life, or when your labs suggest suboptimal levels even in a technically "normal" range. Kathryn will review your full clinical picture rather than treat a single number in isolation.

Peptide therapy

What is peptide therapy?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act on specific biological pathways — recovery (BPC-157), growth-hormone axis (ipamorelin, CJC-1295), sexual wellness (PT-141), and metabolic health (GLP-1 receptor agonists), among others. They are prescribed based on candidacy, goals, and monitored with labs.

How do you source peptides?

SOZARA does not sell peptides directly. Kathryn evaluates candidacy, writes prescriptions when clinically appropriate, and coordinates with licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies (503A/503B) that ship directly to you. We are transparent about the regulatory status of every peptide we recommend. See the Peptide Therapy page →

Are peptides safe?

When candidacy is properly evaluated and treatment is monitored, most well-studied peptides have favorable safety profiles for appropriate patients. That said, some peptides are FDA-approved and others are prescribed off-label — Kathryn will discuss the evidence tier, monitoring plan, and known risks specific to any peptide before you begin.

Concierge vs. traditional insurance-based clinics

What are the advantages of concierge care over insurance-based big-box clinics?

Traditional insurance-based primary care is optimized around volume: short visits, rotating providers, phone trees, and prior-authorization bottlenecks. Concierge care is optimized around relationship: a small panel of patients, longer visits, direct provider access, same- or next-day availability, root-cause diagnostics, and coordinated referrals.

At SOZARA specifically, you see one provider — Kathryn Goodson — for every visit, message, and refill; your labs are reviewed against your history rather than triaged in a queue; and your care plan is written in one document instead of scattered across a chart.

How much of my care is really the same provider each time?

All of it. Membership access is with Kathryn Goodson personally — not a rotating panel of providers, not a triage nurse, not a mid-level pool. Continuity is the product.

What happens if I need a specialist or a hospital?

We help coordinate the referral, share relevant chart context with the specialist, and remain part of the loop when their recommendations come back. For hospitalizations, we integrate with your hospital-based providers and stay in touch through discharge and follow-up.
